*gl-mpm, real-time multi-material physics ~ project @ epok.tech*

The advanced multi-material physics simulation technology being developed for Locus.

See a live demo on the Locus site.

Developing MLS-MPM with ASFLIP, supporting WebGL 1.0, particle-based physics, rendering, natural-motion interaction.

So far developed 2D not 3D, fluid-dynamics not yet other materials, up to AFLIP not yet ASFLIP, basic rendering, uniform grid not yet hierarchical SPGrid.

Integrates gl-gpgpu to simulate all the physics and several other aspects, while supporting WebGL 1.0 for equity of access on many devices.

Integrates glsl-optical-flow for natural-motion interaction via camera to affect fluid particle flow.

Improves upon the earlier version used in the Sibos installation project.

Proves that the method proposed with Locus partner Raymond Yun Fei PhD works in real-time on web-platforms.

Interactive fluid visuals ~ project @ Shelton Fleming, Finastra, Sibos

Developed an initial prototype of the MPM particles physics model to be used for Locus, improved later by gl-mpm.

Developed to production standard, released and tested at Sibos, a major financial conference in Beijing.

Experimented with an initial basic 2D SDF effect for the dissolving text, as Locus will use and expand upon to affect particles within volumetric 3D SDF forms of a human bust anatomy.

Tested on a large screen similar to the size for Locus, proving the performance aims are plausible, as seen in the top video.

Tested natural-motion interactions with real audiences, as seen in the top video, using glsl-optical-flow, as Locus will.

Experimented with myriad physics and rendering variations, as seen in the second behind-the-scenes development video.

Integrates gl-gpgpu to simulate all the physics and several other aspects while supporting WebGL 1.0.

*Peer into the Flow, NFT series ~ project @ Olta, OpenSea*

An NFT series of sketches, prototypes to support Locus by developing tech, raising funds and reach, and testing with audiences.

Explores natural AI face-tracking interactions, letting the viewer change their view by moving their head, like peering into a mirror, as Locus will.

Explores complex motions of millions of particles, developing the gl-gpgpu tool in the process, as Locus will use.

Collectors of these NFT editions directly fund the creation of Locus, and editions are also given as rewards to the Artizen crowd-funder.

Gained reach, exhibited in several digital-art gallery spaces and conferences, featured prominently on the Olta website, shared on social-media by well-known NFT collectors like Rizzle, as shown in the video.

Explored the potential of NFT editions as a way to raise funds from collectors, both now by sales of this *Peer into the Flow* series raising funds for Locus, and later upon Locus’ completion as a digital artwork that could be turned into a series of editions.

***gl-gpgpu, simulation tool ~ project @ epok.tech***

A General-Processing GPU tool, GPGPU, to compute optimally with high parallelism on the GPU via WebGL 1.0 and GLSL.

Useful in tasks like real-time physics, particle systems, of which Locus has many.

Developed and published *Open-Source*, to the same community Locus will serve.

Tested in several real projects with real audiences like others shown here.

Develops and tests the equity of access that Locus centres, high-performance parallel computation of complex systems without needing to rely on the availability of compute-shaders or WebGPU, just the more widely-available WebGL 1.0, which will keep Locus accessible on as many devices as possible; those audiences may own personally, not just high-end devices dedicated to exhibitions.

Tested the capacity of such a system to simulate and render the necessary millions of particles that Locus will require.

***glsl-optical-flow, interaction tool ~ project @ epok.tech***

An Optical-Flow Computer-Vision method for natural-motion interaction via any video input.

Developed and published *Open-Source*, to the same community Locus will serve; Colin Duffy @tomorrowevening has developed a demo exploring this tool and use-cases.

Tested in several real projects with real audiences like others on this page.

Proves the main natural-motion interactions Locus will use work well, in real-time, intuitively, for a wide variety of people, forms, appearances, and environments.
